22 years of teaching experience, grades 6-12 and college freshmen.  I have tutored grades 5-12, as well as college freshmen through graduate school.  As a teacher, whenever I was preparing students for standardized tests, they normally did quite well...better than average to much better than average.

 

I am inclined to feel that teachers who criticize standardized tests are poor teachers.  I saw the tests as a challenge--a goal to reach for--for myself and my students.
